When I’m Gone
When I’ve traveled all my ways
Wherein ends the story of my days
That from this silent grave of dust
My God shall raise me up - I trust!
Across the sea and starlit sky,
My thoughts drift over mountains high.
To a special friend I never see -
And yet this friend is part of me!
When I am gone, I will not be far.
Across the night will streak my star
Close to me you will always be
Soul to soul in eternity!
I will know when your time is done,
When life’s battle can’t be won!
Remember friend - I will be near
Just whisper in the wind and I’ll there!
The moonlight of a perfect peace
The wheel of life shall rest and cease
Close your eyes calmly - without pain
Trust in God to see, yet again!
