  Natures Garden

I went into nature’s garden
And stood by an old crumbling wall
There in the evening’s holy hour
Comes the thrush’s sweet carol call
In tree tops tall, dark against
The soft light of cloudless sky
Evening birds flutter to life
To chirp; sing and upward fly

Fragrant flowers in summer air
Now bow their obedient heads
As in a Benediction Prayer
Although a word is never said

A magic moment swept over me
In love with life that cannot wait
Nature is glorious at twilight
When you enter that garden gate!
