  The Red Rose

Red Rose

The red roses colour comes from the blood
Shed upon the earth by gallant knights
In shining armour Its stem bears thorns
Thorns as sharp as their lances,
Which represents the pain and suffering
Of the wounds they received in battle
A battle which sometimes they lived or died
To win the hand of a fair maiden in marriage
Today the red rose is a mans way of showing
His undying love for a woman
