  Ancestral Spirits

My soul an endless rosy glow
Where ancestral spirits dwell
For they have become a part of me
In flesh blood bone and cell
One sees a look from far or near
Come to the window of mine eye
At different times and place to mirror
A smile a gesture a sigh!
All play their notes to my song
Button makers, poets and thieves
Dance to music with my spirit
Throughout my dreams they weave
I wouldn’t be me if it wasn’t for them
Whose long shadow touches my soul?
Recognise talents inside of me
Just fragments of their whole!
Soul’s vital spark stirs the senses
Of an ancestral spirits pride
To move with determination
My inner light to guide!
