  Song Across the Ocean

I stand on the sandy shore looking out to sea
The wind blowing through my hair
Thoughts are endless spirits free
Neptune’s white herds flying low

Across the waters where you stand
Where I once stood long ago
Where salty smells cheer the land
The tide brightly moves below

Love whispers in winds that blow
Feel the pull of the ocean’s soul
In tides endless ebb and flow
Waves gently lap the shore

In a bottle I wrote a message
Tossed out to our fate
How precarious is its passage
Without a sail to show the way

The waves sparkle the beach is bright
On hoary shells and shining stones
Rushes come in ripples of light
A bottle glitters

As the blushing sea melts the sun
Waves of song blend in melody,
Time and tide make two hearts one
Is the way it’s meant to be!
